Our Story of Impact
Transforming Compassion into Lasting Change
Founded in 2017, For A Brighter Venezuela was born from a simple yet powerful belief: that compassion, when paired with trusted partnerships and collective action, can transform lives.
What began as the initiative of a group of Venezuelan women determined to help children facing a growing humanitarian crisis has evolved into an organization dedicated to improving access to nutrition, education, healthcare, and emergency relief for vulnerable communities throughout Venezuela.
Every project we undertake is grounded in three core principles:
01
Trusted local
partnerships
Trusted local partnerships that maximize impact.
02
Transparency and
accountability
Transparency and accountability in the stewardship of every donation.
03
Sustainable
solutions
Sustainable solutions that strengthen communities while addressing urgent humanitarian needs.
Over the years, our work has evolved from supporting school nutrition programs to responding to public health emergencies, combating child malnutrition, strengthening educational opportunities, and providing relief following natural disasters.
Each milestone represents more than a campaign: it represents children nourished, schools strengthened, families supported, and hope restored.

Inaugural Gala at The Union Club

Inaugural Gala at The Union Club 🇻🇪
Partners: Fe y Alegría Venezuela, Magis Americas, Friends of Fe y Alegría in the United States, Entreculturas – Fe y Alegría España
BACKGROUND
In 2017, a group of Venezuelan women living in New York came together with a shared conviction: that distance should never prevent compassion from becoming action.
As Venezuela's humanitarian crisis deepened, food insecurity became one of the greatest barriers preventing children from attending school. Many families struggled to provide even one nutritious meal a day, placing children's health, education, and future at risk.
That year, For A Brighter Venezuela hosted its inaugural gala at The Union Club of New York, launching what would become our long-term commitment to supporting vulnerable children through trusted partnerships and sustainable humanitarian programs.
OUR RESPONSE
Working alongside Fe y Alegría Venezuela, Magis Americas, Friends of Fe y Alegría in the United States, and Entreculturas – Fe y Alegría España, we supported "Una Comida para Aprender" ("A Meal to Learn"), a school nutrition initiative providing children with a nutritious daily meal while helping schools remain safe places for learning and protection.
By addressing hunger inside the classroom, the program helped reduce one of the primary causes of school absenteeism during one of Venezuela's most difficult humanitarian periods.
IMPACT
During the 2017–2018 school year, the program helped support:
17 educational centers across Venezuela.
5,460 students receiving school meals.
888 teachers and school staff supporting educational continuity.
98 volunteer mothers preparing and serving daily meals.
6,446 total beneficiaries across participating school communities.
10 months of continuous nutritional support.
The program also helped improve school attendance, allowing thousands of children to continue learning in safe, supportive educational environments despite the country's growing humanitarian crisis.
